Synopsis
| - Ten super-heroes of Earth have journeyed to the Pro-
cyon system to invade the Manhunters' home planet of
Orinda: Superman, J'onn J'onzz, Hawkman,
Hawkwoman, Dr. Fate, Captain Atom, Firestorm, and
Green Lanterns Hal Jordan, Arisia, and Katma Tui Ste-
wart. As they plot their strategy, Firestorm suddenly senses
a call for help and flies off, with Captain Atom in pursuit.
Beneath Orinda's surface, Harbinger and Driq continue
their attempt to escape the Manhunters who had been
holding her captive. When Firestorm and Captain Atom
arrive on the scene, the Nuclear Man mistakes Driq for an
enemy until introductions and explanations are made. The
four are immediately united in battle as the planet itself
seems to attack them. Then the cavern walls collapse on
them, and Firestorm knows no more. Firestorm wakes to find himself seemingly back in the
Louisiana bayous with Chief Ferguson, the Manhunters,
and their new ally, Captain Atom. They attempt to con-
vince him that all he has experienced since turning against
the Manhunters has been a delusion. Firestorm is no longer
so easily deceived as before, however, and he shatters the
illusion, and realizes he is still on Orinda, surrounded by
Manhunters. He battles and defeats them, even though
Ferguson offers to reveal the secret of his true nature to
him. Firestorm then manages to make mental contact with
his two alter egos, Ronald Raymond and Mikhail Arkadin,
and promises to change back to his separate selves once his
mission is completed. Captain Atom, Harbinger, and Driq then rejoin
Firestorm, and together they blast free of the planet, even
as it breaks up into fragments , and rejoin the other super-
heroes.
