The country is a unitary sovereign state with 41 provinces, 13 metropolitan cities, and 4 territories. The capital is located in the metropolitan city of Guten Luft, which houses the nation's unicameral parliament and the monarchy. The nation is the eighth largest in the world by land area, and the largest German speaking country by land area. La Plata is a member of the the United Nations. A recognized regional power and great power, La Plata's economy is Latin America's largest, with a "Very High" ranking on the Human Development Index. The nation has the second largest population in Latin America, the eleventh largest worldwide, at 125,830,271 as of 2013. La Plata is the only nation in the world with a Gini coefficient ranking of "very low."
