- Very short star of the 1980s US Sitcom "Different Strokes" and latterly candidate for the Governorship of California (where he lost out to Arnie.) Most often to be found in Benner's wardrobe. Danny Wallace has often expressed the wish that Gary Coleman should play him in the film of the book of the cult that is Join Me. Danny Wallace is pushing 6 foot in height. Gary Coleman is black.
- He guest starred as himself to bail Drake Parker and Josh Nichols out of jail when they were incarcerated for selling stolen Gary Coleman Grills in the Drake & Josh episode "The Gary Grill". The product parodies the George Foreman Grills.
- When the real Gary Coleman passed away, the scriptwriters changed several of the character's lines instead of taking the character off of the show.
- On Family Guy, he was Stewie Griffin's replacement at home in "Brian Goes Back to College". The reason he was chosen to 'replace' Stewie is unknown, but it was stated that he "owed him a favor". In a deleted scene for the episode, he asks Stewie if they want to hang out only to have Stewie decline. In another deleted scene he is shown stalking Stewie only to be chased away.
- Gary Wayne Coleman (February 8, 1968 – May 28, 2010) was an American actor and comedian, best known for his role of Arnold Jackson in Diff'rent Strokes. As a child, Coleman suffered from a congenital kidney disorder. This condition, combined with the effects of the medications used to treat it, limited his growth and caused his face to retain a childlike appearance well into adulthood. On The Simpsons, Coleman appeared as himself in "Grift of the Magi." He died on May 28, 2010 from an intracranial hemorrhage after suffering a fall at age 42.
