- The Public Security Bureau (Kyo: 공공보안국, Gonggongboanguk) is the domestic intelligence agency of Dankuk, organized under the Ministry of Justice. It is a member of the Dankuk intelligence community alongside the National Intelligence Service, the Office of Dovanian Peace & Security, and the military intelligence branches within the Dankuk People's Army. The Public Security Bureau is responsible for intelligence and counter-intelligence outside of Dankuk. The NIS works cooperatively with other intelligence agencies to build a reliable intelligence network and to share relevant information when targets cross between agency jurisdictions. A major role of the Public Security Bureau is counter-terrorism and surveillance. It also assists the Dankuk Immigration Service in enforcing border security. Aside from its role as a general domestic intelligence agency, some critics have regarded the Public Security Bureau as a secret police force, citing its role in post-revolution censorship and Draddwyr population relocation. Questions have also been raised about its domestic surveillance operations leading up to the Kyo-Indralan Revolutionary War and the attempts of Kyodae to contain Cheng socialist political movements. However, the agency also likely contributed to censorship during the Cheng socialist regime that targeted former Kyodae supporters.
