Eragon, Saphira, Arya, Blödhgarm, and the other elves are waiting for the Varden to leave Belatona. Bored, Eragon starts practicing with his sword and spars with Wyrden and later Arya. Unable to win against Arya, Eragon becomes frustrated and increasingly reckless, leading Glaedr to say, "You must learn...to see what you are looking at." Surprised, Eragon, Arya, and the others try to communicate with Glaedr but with no success. The Varden are then ready to move and Eragon and Saphira fly into the sky.
