Herbert Lütje (30 January 1918 – 18 January 1967). He was a highly decorated night fighter pilot and flying ace during World War II. A flying ace or fighter ace is a military aviator credited with shooting down five or more enemy aircraft during aerial combat. Lütje was credited with 50 aerial victories, 47 of which were claimed at night.
