Alain Chabat, born in Oran, French Algeria, is an actor. He voices the blue-footed booby Silas in Ice Age: Continental Drift. Commencing his media career in 1987, Chabat founded the comedy group "Les Nuls" (The Dummies) alongside Bruno Carette, Dominique Farrugia, and Chantal Lauby. Chabat has become one of a select group of French comedians that have successfully emulated the pop-culture-based form of the Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker trio, adapting it to French audiences' tastes, as both a member of Les Nuls and working alone. In 1998, Chabat earned the César Award for Best Debut for the film Didier.
