| - The walking stickman is a magical walking toy that Gargamel's brother Gourmelin had picked up in his travels in the Smurfs comic book story "Gargamel's Twin Brother". Its purpose is to grant one wish to the person who makes a wish, leading that person to wherever it is that wish will lead them to. However, Gourmelin could control the walking stickman by using a magic flute to make it go faster or to bring it directly to him if he feels that the wish that the person makes would do harm rather than good. In the story, when the walking stickman was presented to Gargamel, he wished for it to bring him to the Smurf Village, and so it started to walk directly toward the Smurf Village, with Gargamel and Gourmelin following behind it and the two Smurfs it was chasing after. However, Gourmelin, who had no desire to go after the Smurfs, briefly caught Sassette and showed her that he could control the stickman with his magic flute, thus causing Gargamel to lose sight of the stickman as it moved too fast for him to catch up to. Eventually, when the stickman did reach the village, Gargamel could only return home in frustration to find his brother was gone, and later on the stickman returned to Gourmelin when he played his magic flute.
