So, I'm making a go at saving Gotal from losing its FA status, but it's a tall order. Basically, the article, while still well written, was made a Featured Article in another era, when we didn't require that all sources be mined for information before a topic could be considered comprehensive. I plan to do all I can for the article, but, realistically speaking, I don't think I'll be able to do the amount of work needed on my own. For that reason, I'm listing the appearances and sources for the article below, with the hopes that other Gotal-huggers can pitch in and add missing information. The Gotal article doesn't currently do this, but I'd suggest sourcing to individual page numbers/chapters/issues whenever possible.
