The first Royal King of Darkuth was King Theoben I who ruled until he was killed in battle in 3324 at the Second Siege of Mordorstad. He was succeeded by his nephew Eomer, since his only son had died years prior to sickness during the Davostag-Barmenian Debt Wars. The House of Eorl formed an alliance with the House of Durin with the marriage of King Saramir and Duchess Eowyn.
