  • The Lumix DMC-FX3 is an ultra-compact six megapixel digital camera manufactured by Panasonic. The camera became available to the public circa July 2006. The Panasonic FX3 camera has a 6.37 megapixel CCD and a 2.5", 207,000 pixel TFT LCD monitor and moving-lens Mega OIS optical image stabilisation system. Its aluminium-alloy body has a brushed-metal finish featuring a chrome trim, though a all-black version of the camera is also available. The camera measures 94.1 x 51.1 x 24.2 mm thick and weighs 154 grams with the SD card and 3.7v Li-ion battery fitted. The 35-105mm Leica-branded zoom lens retracts completely into the camera body when the camera is switched off, and there are no protruding controls. There is a choice of preselected scene modes where settings have already been chosen to suit particular scenes and these include; self-portrait, portrait, night, party, fireworks, baby, snow, underwater and sports. Picture adjustment options are:- * natural * standard * vivid Colour effect mode options are:- * cool * warm * black and white * sepia. The Panasonic FX3's ISO film-speed equivalents are auto/100/200/400, White Balance includes auto, daylight, cloudy, halogen and shade and the built-in flash modes are auto, red-eye reduction, slow sync and forced on/off. The camera has a 3x optical zoom facility. Still images are stored as JPEG (Exif2.2), DPOF and movies with sound on QuickTime Motion JPEG. A 512 Mb SD card is included in the package. The Panasonic FX3 is PictBridge compatible and the package includes the following software; LUMIX simple viewer ArcSoft photobase, ArcSoft photoimpression and ArcSoft panorama maker USB driver.
