Ronnie was a Topangan who commanded a trebuchet at the Glenview defensive wall some thirty years after The Change when Bruce Delgado led his Chatsworth Lancers and other Valley forces in an invasion attempt. Jared Tillman was part of the crew and wrestled with the windlass with the rest to lift the one or two ton counterweight between shots. Ronnie encouraged his men by singing improvised doggerel which wasn't appreciated and inspired catcalls. However, Ronnie wasn't deterred; if he couldn't inspire his men into action, he would annoy them into it.

Ronnie wasn't blind and when the Valley forces breached the wall with a battering ram, he realized that they would have to try to prevent them from flooding in. He stepped away from the trebuchet, put on his helmet, slung his shield on his arm and drew his sword. He then ordered his men to do the same and then to counterattack. Screaming "Topannnnnga!" he led the way forward with the rest of the crew on his heels.
