| - In my view, individual freedom lies in the center of the social/economic representation. If you move to the left or the right you move away from individual freedom. The extreme left gives us Castro's Cuba, North Korea, the old Soviet Union, and to a lesser extent China. The extreme right gives us Islamic fundamentalist dictatorships. A political system based on egalitarianism or religion doesn't allow for individual freedom. Playing with the terms left and right doesn't change this fundamental premise. A political system based on egalitarianism or religion doesn't allow for individual freedom. Playing with the terms left and right doesn't change this fundamental premise. In the popular view, Liberal has come to mean to the left of center, while Conservative has come to mean to the right of center, regardless of what the terms mean to each of us as individuals. This leads to confusion and misunderstanding in many discussions. All political systems today are right or left of center, or individual freedom, by varying degrees. As a matter of principal I would like to see the RLC and the RLCPA support individuals and legislation that would move the US and PA toward the center in my view above. I'll qualify that with the statement that trying to do it in one big step will get us nowhere, but if we try and take steps in the right direction, we may begin to get somewhere.
