| - Gennadly "Genndy" Tartakovsky (born January 17, 1970, in Moscow) is a Russian-American animator. He is best known as the creator of Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack, both for Cartoon Network. Tartakovsky and his family moved to Chicago when he was 7 years old, after his father defected from the Soviet Union to the United States. His interest in comic books and animation led him to study animation at Cal Arts in Los Angeles. While he was there, he produced two student films, one of which was the basis of his first series, "Dexter's Laboratory". The character of Dee Dee was inspired by his older brother, Alex, who would often spoil younger brother Genndy's plans (as Dee Dee does to Dexter).

- Genndy Borisovich Tartakovsky (born Gennady Borisovich Tartakovsky, Russian: Геннадий Борисович Тартаковский) is a cartoonist made famous for his first project, Dexter's Laboratory, and is the creator of Samurai Jack and Sym-Bionic Titan. Born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, he came to the U.S. as a child and when he was a young man, he studied at CalArts to learn animation.

His mother, Miriam, was an assistant principal at a school. He also has a brother, Alex, who is two years older and is currently a computer consultant in Chicago. Tartakovsky's family moved to the United States when he was seven due to concerns about the effect of anti-Semitism on their children's lives. Originally settling in Columbus, Ohio the family later moved to Chicago. He was greatly influenced by the comics he found there. The first book he bought was a Super Friends comic at a 7-Eleven.
