  • The throwing axe is primarily used as a missile weapon. Deities Shar at one time possessed this as her favored weapon, however it was patched out. Gameplay Notes In the campaigns throwing axes are almost entirely ignored by the developers, there are not adequate numbers of strong axes to support a character built around them (though weak axes are limitless). This is the case in many online servers as well.
  • Unlike knives, most small axes can be thrown reasonably well, even if they weren't designed to be thrown. Furthermore, if an axe is thrown, it may rotate faster than a knife thrown in the same way, owing to the greater part of weight in the head of the weapon.
  • A throwing axe is an axe that is designed specifically to be thrown. They appear in Madness: Project Nexus 2 as throwing weapons.
  • Throwing axes were first employed in great quantity among trolls, at the beginning of the Age of the Avatar, but later saw widespread use among citizens. Throwing axes are also used by gargoyles, ettins, and various other lowlifes preying on travellers. A special case is the magic axe, which always returns after being thrown, in addition to being stronger than a normal throwing axe.
  • A throwing axe is similar to a handaxe but lighter and balanced for throwing. The wooden haft is about one and a half feet (45cm) long with a head like those shown here. The blade is single-edged with a plain back. An average throwing axe costs 8gp and weighs 2lbs (0.9kg).
  • Throwing axes can be stacked to a maximum of 10, keep in mind that a stack of 10 throwing axes has a weight of 50 lbs. This is also a one-handed weapon, so it can be used in combination with shield. This weapon are seldom used by opponents, which means stores are more depending sources, they're sold at most weapon stores in all campaigns. In BGII, BG:EE and BGII:EE it can be switched to use as a melee weapon.
  • According to Vetron's Guide to Weapons and Armour, the throwing axe has an effectiveness rating of "4" in Ultima VI and VII. In Ultima V, according to The Other Codex, it has a Damage rating of 10 and a Range of 4.
  • The throwing axe is an axe that is able to be thrown at enemies from great distances. The nice thing about all throwing axes is they return after they have been thrown. The axe does cutting and smashing damage to the enemy who is hit.
  • The Throwing Axe, alongside the Throwing Knife, is one of the earliest throwing weapons seen in Diablo II.
  • Mii Brute draws out a small throwing axe and hurls it forwards in an arc through the air.
  • The Throwing Axe is a special axe design used as a missile-weapon. It is used mainly by the dwarves of Middle-earth. A variant of the throwing axe is the cabis.
  • Heavy Throwing Axes are one of the Ranged Weapons carried by Nord Huscarls. The Huscarls carry five at a time, and can take down unsuspecting enemies in a single hit, even horses. In multiplayer, throwing axes are among the most disruptive projectiles when thrown into groups of melee combatants thanks to the characteristic loud whoosh they make as they pass as well as their reputation for dealing heavy damage to anyone they hit.
  • The throwing axe is a type of ranged throwing weapon in the Mod. Formerly unique to the Dwarves, they are now available to all players and are also used by the Dunlendings, Lossarnach axemen, and the Rhudaur hillmen. They work similarly to spears in that they can be thrown and then retrieved, allowing the player to throw an axe again and again until either it is lost in the chaos of battle or it breaks. It deals less damage than a spear, but it can be thrown instantly, making it good for a quick knock-the-enemy-off-their-feet attack. However, these have a limited range and are quite difficult to use effectively.
