The bombing of Aeroflot Flight 177 occurred on October 9th, 1988 in rural Alaska. The flight was travelling from Aleksandrgrad to Mikhailgrad and blew up over the Alaskan Rockies at 3:30 PM, Mountain Time. Out of 221 passengers and crew, there were zero survivors. The AOK terrorist group claimed responsibility for the incident, and the attack was one of numerous deadly bombing attacks by the organization over the next fifteen years. Alaskan Premier Iosef Antonov swore to bring the perpetrators to justice and initiated a maligned and controversial country-wide crackdown on Native Alaskans.
