Louis McCarthy (born 1948) was a drug smuggler, so inconspicuous that no one knew how he would get his drugs in. His other hobbies were parties (which Izzy Moreno was a frequent guest, as well as his chauffeur), high-stakes pool games, and boat racing (though he says "his daddy was a sporting man"). He holds a race periodically to Bimini and back with a $25,000 ante--winner take all. He is also a man of character, not too quick to work with either James "Sonny" Crockett or Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs on their offers for drugs and racing, until Crockett beats McCarthy in a pool game. During the race it's finally revealed how the drugs get in, McCarthy uses a fake boat and crew out towards Bimini, but on the return trip that boat disappears near an island and McCarthy and the real crew go into Miam

Crockett wins McCarthy's race, and Martin "Marty" Castillo busts McCarthy for drug smuggling.
