  • The Cave Bear is a special kind of bear, which lives only in caves. If one is to enter a cave in Daventry, they must make sure that they are well-armed, for there is a chance that this animal will attack them. They are covered in brown fur.
  • Cave bears were a type of large, prehistoric bear that died out about ten thousand years before the 20th century. Nimrod's Neanderthal tribe considered the cave bear holy and the tooth of one was a sign of great wisdom. Producing the tooth of a cave bear from his own jacket pocket, the Seventh Doctor roused Nimrod from a state of unconsciousness. This also sparked Nimrod's recollection of the life he had led in his tribe, which Ace thought at first was a race memory. (TV: Ghost Light)
  • The Cave Bear is an animal available on FarmVille. It was originally released as part of Extinct Animal Zoo. It requires 9 Gray Fossils to be crafted inside Extinct Animal Zoo.

  • Cave Bears are a type of monster in Loonyland 2: Winter Woods. They appear in caves early in the game.
  • The cave bear was a large predator of the ice age also known as the short faced bear; rivelling today's kodiak or grizzly (as some prefer to call) it in size. Being a powerful, deadly hunter it could bring down even the giant deer at almost twice the bear's size with dangerous antlers.
  • Just after saving Kiko from the quicksand in which the beast was stuck, Denham and Hilda are attacked by a giant cave bear. As the bear charges, Denham fires a shot, causing the bear to stumble before quickly regaining its bearings and continuing its attack. Denham and Hilda manage to climb onto a cliff, but the bear appears able to reach them. Just before making it to the top of the cliff, Kiko saves them, fighting and eventually defeating the beast.
  • Both the name "cave" and the scientific name spelaeus derive from the fact that fossils of this species were mostly found in caves, indicating this species spent more time in caves than the brown bear, which only uses caves for hibernation. Consequently, in the course of time, whole layers of bones, almost entire skeletons, were found in many caves.
  • The Cave bear (Ursus spelaeus) was a species of bear that lived in Europe during the Pleistocene and became extinct at the beginning of the Last Glacial Maximum, about 27,500 years ago. Both the name "cave" and the scientific name spelaeus derive from the fact that fossils of this species were mostly found in caves, indicating this species spent more time in caves than the brown bear, which only uses caves for hibernation. Consequently, in the course of time, whole layers of bones, almost entire skeletons, were found in many caves.
  • Cave Bears are particularly aggressive bears usually found in woodland areas and caves. They typically travel alone, though they can be found in pairs. They drop no items.
  • Cave bears are a fairly uncommon animal that tend to reside in the woods and near caves and may attack players who get too close. They are medium to light difficulty, and do tend to run away during a fight so ranged attacks are a big help - both to draw them to you (+ damage on the way) and to finish them off when they run. Tend to gang up on you if not careful to move them out of spawn point. Nice drops of meat and skins (multiples) and enchanting ingredients like hearts (occasional) and catalysts.
  • Cave Bears are animals first introduced in Far Cry Primal. They are based on the real life cave bear, Ursus spelaeus.
