The 34th Training Wing (34 TRW) is a wing of the United States Air Force based at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The commander of the 34th Training Wing is dual-hatted as the Commandant of Cadets at the Academy. During World War II, its predecessor unit, the 34th Bombardment Group (Heavy) was an Eighth Air Force heavy bombardment unit in England, stationed at RAF Mendlesham. Arriving in England in April 1944 and flew its first missions in May 1944. It was the oldest USAAF bomb group to serve with the Eighth Air Force.
