The Fireside Chats are small pre-episode bumpers, in which South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, explain what the episode is about. Someone behind the camera asks them a few questions such as why they kill Kenny McCormick every episode, or if they have a certain knowledge of aliens. They answer these questions in a joking, mocking matter. They also claim that the episode they are talking about is their favorite, or their dog, Scratch's favorite. Scratch changes many times throughout the shorts going from other breeds of dogs to a dog plush stuffed animal.
