The 2008 Kroger 200 was a Craftsman Truck Series event held at Martinsville Speedway on October 18. 2008. It was a huge day for Johnny Benson, Jr. He first hunted down championship leader Ron Hornaday, Jr. and then watched Hornaday run out of gas in the waning laps to claim victory. Dennis Setzer was second after passing both Hornaday and teammate Kevin Harvick in the last three circuits. It was Benson's first ever time leading a lap at the Virginia short track and it allowed him to retake the points lead by 65 markers.
