The Scottish Football League is a league of football teams in Scotland, comprising the Scottish First Division, Scottish Second Division and Scottish Third Division. From the league's foundation in 1890 until the breakaway Scottish Premier League was formed in 1998, the Scottish Football League represented the top level of football in Scotland. The Scottish First Division, the second tier of Scottish football, is now the top tier of the Scottish Football League. Since July 2007, the league is officially known as the Irn-Bru Scottish Football League, due to a sponsorship deal with A.G. Barr.
