| - Sammie Winmill portayed Carol in the first season of The Tomorrow People Original Series. The actress was born in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, England in 1948 with the name Janice Winmill. After small parts in British films and television shows, she was cast as Carol on The Tomorrow People in 1973. In a 2001 interview with Jackie Clark, Winmill explained why she left the show after only one season: "Instead of feeling the character deepening I actually felt like I was becoming more shallow as a person. I always seemed to be saying 'John look out!' and I didn't want to be type cast. On reflection I did leave too early. They did want to contract me for the next three years but I just felt no. I was then twenty five and needed to broaden my career."
