Moorpark is a housing estate in Renfrew, near Glasgow. It is located south of the town centre and was named after Moorpark Farm located at Third Avenue. There is a mixture of council-built and private homes built between 1931 and the late 1940s designed by James Steel Maitland. In 2007, redevelopment is commencing once more on rebuilding on derelict sites left from the demolition. Moorpark Square remains derelict and there are still properties to be demolished on Brown Street. This includes the deck access block at 1-19 Brown Street

  • Moorpark is a housing estate in Renfrew, near Glasgow. It is located south of the town centre and was named after Moorpark Farm located at Third Avenue. There is a mixture of council-built and private homes built between 1931 and the late 1940s designed by James Steel Maitland. After the transfer to Williamsburgh Housing Association in 2001, the council built properties came under scrutiny for being ill-maintained and with nearly half the council-owned properties illetable, the decision was taken to demolish the tenements at Moorpark Square and the surrounding streets. South Moorpark would recieve funding for improvements. The work began in September 2003 and took 18 months to complete. The masterplan was completed in 2005 with the planned open space outside the Cherrie Centre having been landsacaped and 54 new homes erected. In 2007, redevelopment is commencing once more on rebuilding on derelict sites left from the demolition. Moorpark Square remains derelict and there are still properties to be demolished on Brown Street. This includes the deck access block at 1-19 Brown Street
