These shields were the best defense against Minkey's projectiles. In fact, there are a few areas that are impossible to pass without being in the way of their projectiles; only the barrel shield can protect Dixie/Kiddy. By climbing behind the Barrel Shield, they will be shielded. If they do not face behind the barrel and instead go in front, they will be open for attack. Few barrel shields move, but most are stationary.
