abstract
| - Neil Arndale is a defender who came though the Rovers youth system, and is a former England Under-18 international. He was first brought into the first team squad late in the 2001–02 season, and made his senior debut six days before his 18th birthday, in a 2–1 defeat at Rochdale on 20 April 2002, when he came on as a 65th-minute substitute for Carlos Lopez. He went on to spend two full seasons with the Pirates, making two league starts and three appearances as sub, as well as starting one Football League Trophy game, all without scoring. He proved to be something of a bad luck charm, with Rovers losing four, drawing one and only winning one of the six games in which he played. He was loaned out to Clevedon Town during the 2003-04 season on work experience terms, and was released in the summer of 2004, when he joined Cirencester Town for two years.
