Dartmouth College is a private, coeducational university located in Hanover, New Hampshire, in the United States. It is a member of the Ivy League and is one of the nine colonial colleges founded before the American Revolution. Dartmouth's men's basketball team was declared mythical national champions by the Helms Foundation for 1906. Dartmouth College competed in two NCAA Division I Men's Tournament Championship games but came up short both times. In 1942, Dartmouth was runner-up to Stanford University; they lost to the University of Utah in 1944.
