The Red Lantern Central Power Battery was a Central Power Battery that harnessed the power of Rage in the Emotional Spectrum. Its creation came after the Sinestro Corps War when the demonic prisoner Atrocitus intended to get his revenge his enemies for the Massacre of Sector 666. To that end, he killed the last members of his race amongst the Five Inversions that survived the destruction of Ryut. After the War, he managed to free himself from his crucifix on the prison world of Ysmault and used the slain blood of the Five Inversions which he poured into a pool on the former throneworld of the Empire of Tears. With the collected blood, he forged the Red Lantern Power Battery and the Central Power Battery which would be used to power his vengeance fueled Red Lantern Corps who harnessed the r

Its existence came during the War of Light when Atrocitus attempted to kill Sinestro for his part in the Red Lanterns imprisonment. However, he was defeated though the Central Power Battery remained unscathed on Ysmault. After the War of The Green Lanterns, the fallen creation Abysmus intended to get revenge against his creator Atrocitus. After emerging from the Blood Ocean, he used a poisoned rib from his ruined body to poison the Red Lantern Central Power Battery. This act began to manifest as the Red Lantern Power Ring's became infected by the poison and slowly started killing members of the Red Lantern Corps.
