The party usually nominate a candidate for the presidential elections, but has never won. Last time a progressive candidate won a state in a presidential election was Larry J. The party was founded in 1942, by a merger between Rhodea's Farmer Party and the Progressive Labor Party. The colors of these parties were green and orange, respectively, and these colors are used of the party still today.
