  • Rigia Mortius was a servant of Sorcerer Blackspell from The Legend of the Golden Axe. In appearance, the leader of the lizard guards is not that different to the people she commands. However, she appears to be much more capable in combat, even able to resist a low-level magic spell which set her head on fire. When she first encountered Ax-Battler, Gilius-Thunderhead and Tyris-Flare, working along with the sorceress Ul-Tima, Rigia volunteered to take care of Tyris. She sent her minotaur guards to fight the men, but it was Ul-Tima who ultimately captured the surviving heroes. Mortius took them back to Auropolis and Blackspell, where the wizard would explain his plans. She then sent Gilius and Tyris down to the dungeon to wait. Later, Ax revived and came to Auropolis for his friends. Alerted to his presence by a Hatch Maiden, Blackspell sent Mortius to stall him. In the sewers, Rigia proved to be very good in combat, easily besting Ax on top of her Bizarrian and put him to sleep with a sleeping potion. After taking Ax to join his comrades in the dungeons, Rigia was ordered to kill the remaining men with Tyris being used at the Corpselands as a sacrifice. Not wanting to die yet, Gilius kicked Rigia while still in the chains. The heavy blow sent her tumbling towards Ax and her raised sword cut open the chains Ax was held in. Despite them being broken, Ax still managed to fix things so that Rigia was herself chained up, although upside down. Mortius was last seen hanging around in a rage. With nobody left in the ruined city, it can be presumed that Rigia died in her own prison.
