While they wait, the three brothers decide yo go to the Well of Wonders to find a cure for their mother. At the Well, the guardian Nyx knows of their mother and how she has been harmed, and says that her waters can only heal those whose destinies have not yet been written. The Guardian says that their mother will die. Cyrus asks why she must die for a mistake his made, but Nyx simply tells him to return the water or pay the price, and then retreats into the well. Despite that, the brothers decide to take the water. Cyrus and his brothers return to their home and give their mother the water. She finally recovers and the healer removes the bandages. Their mother's face has healed and the healer tells Amara that her sons have healed her. Amara thanks her three brave sons and they explain that she was badly burned. As they talk, the healer gathers the water skin, spilling some of the water in the process. Rafi says that magic saved her and Cyrus says that they didn't have a choice. When Amara realizes that they took the water from the Well, she says that they must leave immediately because Nyx is coming for them. Nyx materializes out of the water spilled on the floor and Amara begs he for mercy. The Guardian ignores her and tells them that they let their desires override their fate. She curses them to serve the desires of others and traps them in three lamps on a nearby table, and the lamps disappear. ("Dirty Little Secrets")
