The Dahomey Amazons or Mino were a Fon all-female military regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey in the present-day Republic of Benin which lasted until the end of the 19th century. They were so named by Western observers and historians due to their similarity to the semi-mythical Amazons of ancient Anatolia and the Black Sea.

The Amazons are denied the right to marriage once in the regiment, and religion is used to give them a sense of being sacred.

The Amazons are denied the right to marriage once in the regiment, and religion is used to give them a sense of being sacred. They are extremely well trained, and inculcated with a very aggressive attitude. They are ferocious fighters with a reputation for decapitating those who are unfortunate to become their captives. Woe betide the foe that underestimates them!
