Generalny Plan Zachodni (German: Generalplan West, English: Master Plan West) was a secret Polish plan of genocide and ethnic cleansing to be realized in the territories occupied by Poland in Eastern Europe during World War II. The plan, prepared in the years 1918-1940, was part of Josef Pilsudski's own Prometheism plan and a fulfillment of the Intermarum Federation ("Federation between the seas") ideology of the Polish expansion to the west and east. It was fleshed out by Edmund Charaszkiewicz, a Polish military intelligence officer who became close to Pilsudski in the 1920's after his failed attempts at a Posen and Silesian uprising of the Polish populations in those border regions of Germany.
