The Assistant System Administrator assists the System Administrator in managing the Schools mail, web, file, and imaging servers; coordinating LAN management, and ensuring adequate backups of servers and desktop computers critical to the Schools operation. This position also assists the System Administrator in evaluating, configuring, and administering a broad range of server-based tools for teaching, learning, and operating the School, including but not limited to online calendaring, course management, remote technical support tools, and special projects as assigned. S/he also provides basic skill set redundancy for server management emergencies. Network admin expertise and some supervisory experience are desirable. The successful candidate will blend strong interpersonal skills with excellent technical ability. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required for scheduled maintenance and incident response activities.
