Tony Blair is a British Labour party politician who served as Prime Minister (1995 - 2003). Blair entered parliament at the 1982 election as MP for Sedgefield. In 1984 he entered government as Education Minister, subsequently serving in the treasury and Trade and Industry ministry. In 1988 he entered cabinet as Secretary of State for Energy, in the reshuffle following the resignation of Denis Healey he was moved to become Education Secretary.
