There exist a few simple steps to the voting process that will make it quick and painless and will give everyone their due. There is nothing more disheartening than +voting for fifteen people that you've RP'd with and only receiving seven in return, because others might be too lazy to acknowledge or are forgetful. Below are listed three steps to make this process a smooth one: Determining who will get comments with their +votes is entirely based on you and how you feel about their roleplay. Below are listed three steps to make this process a smooth one: 1. +Vote for whoever is involved in your scene during the scene itself or immediately after the scene is finished. Do not wait until the end of the month to scrape your +votes in, because it is guaranteed you will leave out at least three deserving people. 2. You do not have to add comments to the votes until the end of the month. You can remove/revote with a comment quite easily. This might be a little more tedious, but it allows you to add together all of the roleplay that has occurred over the month for building the comment. The more comprehensive your comment, the more worthwhile it is to the other players. 3. Try to vote for everyone you are in a scene with, whether or not they directly have an effect on your character. They are still there doing their part and contributing to the continuation of a storyline, and so they are RPing - and RP is the reason we +vote for people. Determining who will get comments with their +votes is entirely based on you and how you feel about their roleplay. However, here are some guiding questions that could help you discern whether or not to add a comment. * Has their character done something to contribute to a change or growth in yours? * Has their character left a lasting impression on you? * Has their character done something major for Fastheld? * Has their roleplay included something unique or interesting to you that you believe is pretty awesome? * Have they been dedicated to their scenes and/or plots? * Do they have the ability to push/guide a scene along without skimping on entertainment? * Does some personality aspect or characteristic of their character strike you as interesting? * Are they just plain fun to RP with? As you can see, these questions revolve around both player and character because +votes are meant to commend the player for their wonderful work and creativity. There is no limit on what you can say in a +vote comment so long as it pertains to the person and their RP quality. Hopefully this short guide will help keep the process of +voting sweet, simple, and smooth as it should be. Perhaps this will help everyone to start voting more, and lead to more Roleplaying Superstars!
