He was eventually caught by the Science Police and was about to have his deadly hand amputated when Ferro Lad showed up on behalf of the Legion to ask his help in defeating the Sun-Eater, in return for a full pardon. The Legion also recuited the Emerald Empress, Persuader, Tharok and Validus. These criminals helped the Legion fight and defeat the Sun-Eater. The five criminals, with Tharok as their leader, became the Fatal Five.
