abstract	Status: The USS Yolja (NCC-75353) was a Danube-class runabout that was constructed at the Antares shipyards and was assigned to Deep Space 9 in late 2376. The ship was to have had a waveguide installed to increase its warp velocity, although the lack of that piece of technology due to the war meant it was commissioned without it. Nonetheless, the ship was more advanced than the rest of Deep Space 9's runabouts. Its name was chosen by Captain Kira Nerys, who, as the commander of Deep Space 9, named it after the Yolja River on Bajor. Thus, it became the first Danube class ship to be named after a non-Earth river, to mark the Bajoran people's entry into the United Federation of Planets.
