The recipient of the jutsu, once completed, gains powerful Blood Release Kekkei Genkai of the Ketsueki Clan. This technique is what the Ketsueki family has used to hide their Kekkei Genkai, playing it off as a Hiden Jutsu. Anyone who is brought into the family is given the Blood Gift by the head of the family. Knowledge of this technique is restricted only to the head of the family and the eldest son (presently Hideyoshi and Mori Ketsueki). In recent years, because of the growing acceptance of Kekkei Genkai in Kirigakure, this Jutsu has been largely abandoned. Those who enter the family are still given the option to receive the Blood Gift.
