Hidden from all but those who spend much time trying to find them, the Grangores are a race of powerful, quick-to-anger reptiles who inhabit the Yanme'e homeworld of Palamok, and at least one of its moons, Kami. Much like their homeworld, the Grangores are awe-inspiring beasts which hold the record for being the largest known living sentient lifeforms, despite how their neighbours categorise them to be. The culture is noted to be a mixture of Sangheili and Human culture, promoting the natural abilities of their offspring but having an emphasis on combat and self-reliance which is prized by the Sangheili. Much like their homeworld, the Grangores are awe-inspiring beasts which hold the record for being the largest known living sentient lifeforms, despite how their neighbours categorise them to be. The culture is noted to be a mixture of Sangheili and Human culture, promoting the natural abilities of their offspring but having an emphasis on combat and self-reliance which is prized by the Sangheili. After centuries of conflict between themselves and the Yanme'e, they adopted an isolationist lifestyle and xenophobic outlook on life after the Covenant arrived and gave the Yanme'e the technology to become the full masters of their solar system. They dislike the Yanme'e, and need a great deal of convincing to even request an audience. After they were discovered in 2604, however, they began to even colonise their own system, escaping the hatred found on their homeworld.
