The Republic of Cabecia (/kʊbɛʃʊ/, /kʊbɛʃiːʊ/ or /kʊbɛsiːʊ/; kə-bee-shə, kə-bee-shee-ə or kə-bee-see-ə, Portuguese: República de Cabécia), commonly known as Cabecia, is an island nation located in the Western Greater Azores. Originally discovered by Portuguese sailors, the island was used as a trading post with natives for decades until Britain colonized the land, finding it almost unpopulated. The island had strong tides with Dutch Azores for decades and avoided battle with each other during the second, third and fourth Anglo-Dutch Wars, mainly due to trade.

Cabecia gained independence as a dominion of the British Empire in 1876, recognized by the United Kingdom in early 1877, after the Civil War. The island remained a dominion until it's official independence in 1952.
