abstract	EverQuest: Gates of Discord is the seventh expansion released for EverQuest. The expansion focused on high-level content, providing a number of zones meant to be used by large groups of players and many extremely powerful monsters to fight. The expansion was controversial on release, with many players complaining the mobs were way too hard to kill and were intended for level 70, a level unreachable at the time. Players protested about the terrible expansion launch, including other issues, such as the numerous bugs. SOE held a summit to try and get help about how to solve the issues. Since then, the mobs in Gates of Discord have been properly tuned and in Omens of War, the level cap was raised to 70.
