Trin and Macintyre, Planetary Investigative Agents, is the firm that Ayla Goodkind uses when she has research that needs to be done. They are headquartered in New York City and have offices in London, Sydney, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, Cairo, and Capetown. They're mentioned in quite a few of the Ayla stories because Ayla frequently consults them, among other things commissioning reports on devisor drugs and transgender mutants, biodevisors and Aries' family and arranging for covert protection for Chaka and Gateway's families.

Trin and Macintyre agents are actively involved at Harrison's Restaurant during Ayla's party. As of July 2007, one of their operatives is Shortcut, who does secure deliveries for them. They are apparently based on Amber Trin and Crystal Macintyre, two of the protagonists of Babs Yerunkle's sci fi adventure series Planetary Agents.
