Akamu, an Onu-Matoran, invented the sluice and could construct one at a price of 20 pieces of Bamboo and a net. Most Onu-Koro miners owned a sluice because it was never known what one would find in a cave. The sluice worked as a scoop to collect and filter protodermis into a lump. The sluice was once used by miners in the Great Mine in the cave section E. At one point, Hahli bought a sluice from Akamu and later used it to collect protodermis in the flooded mine.
