Neldfel and Ayrtfel are the two ancestral weapons of House Karthmere. Neldfel is a golden spear, made with alloys lost to present day. Ayrtfel was made in the same manner, but Ayrtfel is a shield. They are designed to be wielded together. Ayrtfel has the image of a scorpion's tail on it, reflecting the time period in which it was forged; before the Karthmeres saw their sigil as a lion, they often used scorpions as their animal of choice to represent their banners.
