| - Bernard Manning MBE (13 August 1930 – 18 June 2007) was an English stand-up alleged comedian and nightclub owner. He was, predicably, born and raised in Manchester in northwest England. Manning was one of the last people who thought that his repetitive racist drone and 'salt of the earth' Mancunian whine placed him at the forefront of British humour. He achieved mainstream success in The United States of America surprisingly. Many (mainly Jim Davidson) have described Manning as a British hero, a national treasure and someone England could be proud of - "a man up there with the likes of Winston Churchill".
- Bernard Manning (1930-2007) was a British comedian, notorious for his offensive jokes aimed at minorities. File:Bernard Manning.png In "Spitting Image" he was depicted as a very fat man, usually sweating and with a cigarette or glass of beer in his hand. He never cared about anyone and loved to make racist jokes. In one sketch he is shown with writer's block and unable to think of someone to insult since he already made fun of "blacks, micks, kikes, yanks,...". Hulk Hogan then suggests Manning to poke fun at himself. Manning is delighted by the idea and claims that he now has ideas for "years to come". The next shot shows him telling jokes in a bar, accompanied by a laugh track which he turns off at the end of the sketch.
- Bernard Manning (13th August, 1930 - 18th June, 2007) was a British stand-up comedian who achieved national fame in the 1970s, despite his controversial material that involved ethnic stereotyping, a type of comedy that was popular in the day. He was somewhat absent from television in the 1980s onwards because of this, although he did make numerous TV appearances, such as The Comedians, The Mrs. Merton Show and Bernard Manning From Beyond The Grave, a show in which he had, in effect, become the first celebrity to ever host his own obituary.

Outside of television, Bernard owned and regularly performed in the Embassy Club in Manchester, and did a brief but successful stand-up season in Las Vegas in the late 1970s. He appeared as himself in a cameo role on Coronation Street in December 1971. His niece, Francesca Manning, also appeared in the programme as Sandra Milligan in 2002 and more recently, as an unnamed Bouncer in March 2010.
