Tamir Grey was an idealist and relief worker who worked with Chicago's Ghoul community. Eventually he was infected and became a Ghoul leader. He kept his wits, skills, oratorical abilities when he transformed. He did important work getting ghouls recognized as a metahuman group and led his people through the hard years after the contaminated zone went up. Grey was later to die under mysterious circumstance. Among ghouls he is identified as a philosophical leader who advocated not hunting living metahumans. In his honor "Grey" became one of the first ghoul surnames.
