| - Jet Black (ジェット・ブラック Jetto burakku?) is one of the main characters of the Cowboy Bebop television series. Jet is a bounty hunter and a former member of ISSP. After retirement, Jet became the captain of a converted fishing vessel, the Bebop, with the bounty hunter Spike Spiegel in search of bounty heads.
- Jet Black is one of the main protagonists of the anime series Cowboy Bebop. Known on his home satellite as the "Black Dog" for his tenacity, he is a 36-year-old former cop from Ganymede (a Jovian satellite) and acts as Spike's foil during the series. He is voiced by Unshou Ishizuka in the Japanese version and Beau Billigslea in the English version, the latter of whom also voices Barret Wallace.

- Washu has recounted that Jet Black was formerly a renowned and feared member of the Galactic Police, and a local leo who effectively ran the Scarlet Dragon Syndicate off of the planet Mars at an unknown point of inhabitation. However, after an unknown incident that resulted in massive losses for him, he's decided that allowing freelancers to have joint use of his ship can help more people in more places.

He has a strong sense of justice, but the restrictions of the Alliance and Citadel-space have blocked his ability to fight for justice around the galaxy so he went AWOL and disappeared from Citadel-space. As a fugitive of the law, Jet hides out in the Terminus Systems and Nemean Abyss, fighting against overwhelming numbers of criminals, destroying slaver operations, and cutting down drug cartels. Not until recently has Jet joined up with a team, all with the purpose of decimating the smuggling of slaves, illegal arms, and drugs to and from different star systems.

- Jet originally helped Captain Blue achieve his initial level of fame by acting as a cinematographer, and allowing the films to be shown in his theater. During his work, he met the actress Junko, and the two were soon wed and had their first child, Joe. He wanted to show his son a true hero. After finding Black Film, a cursed piece of celluloid, his wife Junko died in a car accident after giving birth to Jasmine. Jet's ideals were by then twisted into something else entirely. Jet found himself obsessed with finding the seven Rainbow Oscars, which would allow him to control the fate of Movieland, but more importantly, would make him the ultimate hero for his son. In Viewtiful Joe 2, he obtains a Black V-watch, and forms Gedow as the Dark Emperor to attack Movieland after King Blue's defeat.
