| - Smithing is a powerful option for creating high-end equipment if the PC has all necessary equipment and spare in-game time for its extensive use. Based on the Smithing skill level of the PC, a lot of ingots are required to improve several items and/or reach practical limits of quality for chosen items. Thus, either ingots are of no consequence to the player or he will be required to obtain ingots through dedicated means not related to the usual loot generation techniques.

| - Ingots can rarely be found in the same manner as all generic loot.
The usual way to create ingots includes digging dungeon walls to obtain metallic ore which is later melted in a forge. Weaponsmiths are able to melt any metallic items into ingots of the corresponding material.
Finally, iron ingots can be formed from equipment lying on the floor subjected to high temperatures. This may happen in a variety of ways:
* Naturally on any level of the Tower of Eternal Flames;
* As a result of monsters using fire breath attacks;
* As a result of the PC using Fire Bolt, Fireball and Improved Fireball spells;
* As a result of the PC using a wand of fire, a wand of fireballs or a crystal of fire;
* As a result of the PC using Alchemy with a wrong recipe;
* As a result of monsters/PC triggering a fireball trap.
