Jedi trained constantly to meet the intense requirements of the Jedi Order. Jedi would train in groups or in a Master–Apprentice relationship. Training can be hosted in any planet but is commonly hosted in the capital of the Republic, Coruscant, or the sanctuary of the Jedi Order, Tython. It consists of training and mastering the ways of the Light Side and The Force, gaining knowledge and experience, though many Jedi believe they gain knowledge and experience their whole life, not only during their training.

  • The Jedi are always trained as Padawan, or apprentices, by other Jedi-- either Knights or Masters. Padawan are not chosen at birth, and it is not the sort of thing you can walk up to the Jedi and 'sign up' for. Jedi Knights and Masters pick their own apprentices, and most of them are choosy about who they pick. If you are having trouble finding a Knight or Master who can help you, feel free to speak to a Judge or Helper (see 'news staff') OOCly. The players and staff of this MUSH will do their best to see that you get an IC opportunity to interact with a Jedi who is able to take an apprentice.

If you are interested in playing a Jedi character, however, do not despair. Jedi are choosy ICly, but OOCly we all want to promote RP and help you realize your vision of your character. You may OOCly express your interest in becoming a Jedi to connected Knights or Masters, who will see what they can do about working your character into an IC situation in which they might be taken as an apprentice. If you are having trouble finding a Knight or Master who can help you, feel free to speak to a Judge or Helper (see 'news staff') OOCly. The players and staff of this MUSH will do their best to see that you get an IC opportunity to interact with a Jedi who is able to take an apprentice. Please note, however, that no character is obligated to take you as an apprentice. Jedi are choosy. Whether or not they take you will be determined by how your character interacts with the Jedi. Becoming an apprentice is a privilege (and an IC one), not an OOC right. If you are interested in playing a Jedi character there is one highly important 'DO NOT'. Do not include in your background more than a passing mention of Jedi. Do not mention the names of Jedi in your background. Do not give your character more than a passing interaction with Jedi in your background. Good example: 'When he was six, he saw a Jedi rescue a young woman from a fire, and this instilled in him an awe and respect that has been with him ever since.' Bad example: 'She was raised by a Jedi Master, and instructed in the ways of the Force, but the Master perished in an explosion, and now she seeks out the Jedi Order...'
